Tweeter Files For Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

Tweeter Home Entertainment Group Inc. (TWTR) filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy
today. The mid-level AV and home theater retailer has been feeling pressure
from big-box retailers in the HDTV market such as Costco and Best Buy. Higher
up the food chain, Best Buy's standalone and built-in Magnolia stores also
eroded Tweeter's marketshare.

The Top 5 Questions People Have About 1080p And HDMI(tm)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why all the hoopla about 1080p? Most early adopters saw no improvement from
their "up-converting" DVD players, even after going digital with HDMI(tm). Why?
Because all they were really seeing was enhanced 480p on a 1080i display. The
early hype about 1080p made us think it was the next big thing. Is it? New
HDTVs that are "full HD 1080p" are shipping now so let's take a look at the top
5 questions people have about going to 1080p.

5. How much better is 1080p than 720p?
4. Is this content available now?
3. Do I have to use an HDMI(tm) connection to get 1080p?
2. Do I need v1.3 HDMI(tm) in order to see the real 1080p or hear the
Dolby True HD/DTS Master HD soundtrack?
And the #1 question people have about upgrading to 1080p is...
1. What will I need to make 1080p work in my existing system?

Final Sopranos Episode Makes Viewers Think Their DVR Was Broken -
It's no secret that David Chase, the creator of the hit HBO series, The
Sopranos, is fond of ending his episodes by dramatically fading out to music
and a black screen. Last night's "Made In America" episode took that
directorial technique to an insulting and jarring new level. At the very end of
the show, Chase dramatically built tension around what looked like either an
FBI raid or a mob-hit on the Soprano family as they sat in one of New Jersey's
famous diners. Click here... http://www.avrevforum.com/showthread.php?t=168
