as I said on IRC, I am currently trying to get the planner to a workable
state (slowly admittedly). At some point it will want to remember slightly
more complex data structures between runs, like for example at least one
default gaslist or a default set of ascend velocities at various depths.
Do you have any preferences where those should go? Initially preferences
come to mind but we might as well store them in an invisible magic dive in
the xml (that sounds crazy at first but note that the preferences like
scalar values so the data would have to be serialized in some way while
dives already accomodate gas lists and could as well store ascend speeds
in their samples).
