the toolbar is not that big, and if we keep hidding / showing buttons the
toolbar can be a bit inconsistent. I like the gray out idea.
*if* the toolbar grows to something huge on next versions we can make it
have two columns, also, Luisa did a mockup about a buttons with relatives,
but I don't think she worked on that for long.
