it’s really a pitty that merging .ui files does not really work. If I understand correctly the point of Willem’s patch was to add headings to the sections. This I (and later Tomaz with this two patches) incorporated already. So I guess this is resolved.

that fixes problems when using imperial units (I tried to read the settings in the preferences before they actually had values. As a bonus, you can now change units while planning and the planner interface updates dynamically).

So I would propose to take the following patches (in this order):
