Hi,
I am a rookie for diving. Also for handling the datas. By using the software, I´m editing by hand, its absolutly impossible for me to store the selected day of dive with the correct datas (day, month, year). There is only the day of storing possible (it seems the system do it by its self).
I don´t understand. Whats wrong. Thanx for help.

This reminds me.
Someone talked about extending the image loading infrastructure to include
the option to write the depth at the time a picture was taken into the
EXIF data of a picture.
Last week while teaching a class I talked to a marine biologist who
thought this would be a killer feature to have when they do population
studies...
So if someone is looking for a small project to work on... there you go.

Planning rebreather dives with Subsurface would be awesome! I've hacked
the code in the past to plan for specific dives, but the UI remains to
be done. I'll get to that some day unless someone beats me to it.
Something as simple as special cylinders with only a setpoint value
would work - although then we need to compute two decos: one with the
rebreather, one on the bailouts, so there needs to be some sort of
switch in the UI for that, or we compute both decos at one.
Cheers.

One way to get this process started is if you can articulate WHAT needs to
change in the UI. Even better, like Davide, provide a mockup.
We have a bunch of brilliant developers here. While by default everyone
looks at Tomaz to do UI work, there are actually quite a few people here
who have done smaller (or even bigger) modifications on the UI.
Robert did some really cool work with the tissue loading graph. I
seriously love the way this looks.

See - this is not enough for someone to get started. Come up with a clear
vision of how things should work and go from there.

As Linus correctly guessed, through a change in the build process fairly
late in the game it appears that the current binary isn't linked against
libusb.
Could you give today's daily build a try? It has some new features (and
I'm sure some new bugs), but this will allow me to make sure that this
works now (after which I'll think about making a 4.2.1 that fixes this
issue...)

Fair enough but I do not have a clear vision of how things should work.
How about the following? It should require minimal changes to the UI and
code while still allowing basic closed circuit dive planning.
Attached are pictures of how this would work from a user perspective,
but let me detail this a little bit here:
We add a cylinder type called "CCR" (closed circuit rebreather) for
which the fields "Size", "Work press", and "He%"are ignored. The field
"Switch at" works as usual and the field "O2%" expects a setpoint, that
is, the constant PPO2 the diver will be exposed to; they are usually
expressed in bars but using 120% to denote 1.2 seems natural.
Just like other cylinders, this special cylinder can be used in dive
planner points. Its label would be "CCR SP=1.2" where "1.2" is the
setpoint.
We add a checkbox in the "Dive notes" frame that reads "Compute deco on
CCR". When it is unchecked, the decompression schedule is computed as
normal, ignoring special CCR cylinders. When it is checked, the last
used CCR of the dive planner points is used for deco.
Would that make sense?
