Last night I noticed that I can reproduce this with a fresh install on my
Galaxy S 3 - so now that I can reproduce this, I hope I can fix it :-)
I'm pretty sure the critical hint is in what you write above: "... and did not
change when tapped". Somehow on first start the visual checkbox setting and the
programmatic state get out of sync.
