Have you tried with the current version of Subsurface (4.5.6)? This
'bug' may already be fixed.

Subject: Photo Import
Hi
Not sure where to raise this bug/feature request just been trying to
import photographs into a log & have found that they are not
recognised unless they are .jpg (lower-case) & not .JPG (upper-case).
surly Linux should not be relying on the extn. to identify file types?
my camera sets them upper-case & I would prefer not to have to change
then unnecessarily
OS Fedora V24
Subsurface Version 4.4.2

No
I prefer to keep to software that is in my distro's repository's
wherever possible
V4.4.2 is the current version in the Fedora 24 repo.
also there does not seem to be a F24 build available on the Downloads
page (only F20, F21, F22 & F23)
