In Linux, when you hold down the Alt key, you'll see that certain letters
in the menu are underlined, using those letters you can now run Subsurface
with just the keyboard. So, Alt-F opens the File menu, a subsequent Alt-R
opens the P_references.

The Alt key thing is an eye opener for me. Indeed, on my Linux version, the Alt key shows the underlined shortcut character. I think, some time ago, this underline was always present (so without using the Alt key to explicitly show them). This is, however, not relevant for now.
