Actually, looking at the opensuse webpage, the versions are the other way round
(which would actually make more sense as well).
Since these are build on OBS for the specific distro, I have no idea.

openSUSE Leap 42.3 uses Qt 5.6.*. If his system has Qt 5.9.*, then it is not
openSUSE Leap 42.3 but openSUSE Tumbleweed (the rolling release).
So, he probably selected the wrong version. He must select Tumbleweed here (not
Leap 42.3):
