I haven’t deleted anything from the log, I ran the command 
"Subsurface.app/Contents/MacOS/Subsurface > log 2>&1" per previous instruction. 
The -v parameter was not given. Can I enter 
“Subsurface.app/Contents/MacOS/Subsurface -v > log 2>&1”?
