Not the type of progress I was hoping for :-(

The error message is so exquisitely useless, I find it quite annoying.
I'll need to try to figure out how to reproduce this so I can create a much 
more instrumented build that shows me what actually is being deleted 
prematurely - because I don't think it's what I thought it is...
