This will include network hardware and software, data architectures, and operating systems. We estimate 50% of this position's activities will need to be performed during off-peak hours or weekends to align with corporate maintenance windows. *Major Responsibilities:* Regular review and understanding of CIS (Center Internet Security) UNIX based exception reports. Develop strategic methodologies to implement pre-approved security enhancements. Work with applications and infrastructure support teams to facilitate and provide technical direction for this initiative. Implementation of pre-approved security enhancements to AIX UNIX servers. Provides ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed technical solutions. Development and provide monthly metrics reporting. * Education / Experience:* 5+ years hands-on UNIX experience in a fast paced commercial environment. Experience in installation and implementation of new hardware technologies. Experience with installation and patch management of AIX operating systems. AIX Certifications preferred but not mandatory. *Description: * Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Broad understanding of the AIX UNIX operating system. Must have through understanding of IBM's Power4 and Power5 technologies, including system virtualization and HMC administration. Strong understanding of network protocols. Installation, configuration, maintain and implementation of applicable operating systems. Understanding the concepts associated with the governance of open systems security. Familiarity with TSM backup and recovery solutions. Strong scripting skills. Experience with standard UNIX protocols. Strong trouble shooting skills. Superior customer relation skills.
