*Location: Houston, TX Duration: 2-3+ years Rate: $55/hr Max Interview: Telephonic* The role of the Deployment Coordinator (DC) is the point of contact for one or more workgroups for deployment readiness and communication. The DC works with Regional Implementation Project Managers (RIPMs), Site Implementation Project Managers (SIPMs), Site Schedulers, Site Application Coordinator, Red team lead and BU DC to ensure a smooth and safe GIL 3 deployment with minimum business disruption. The DC will work with business people and technical people to prepare, plan, and deploy the new GIL3 personal computers to Client users. They will be trained to do the job but they will also need IT support experience and good people skills. This is hardware and software deployment. It is the replacement of the current computers (GIL2) with new machines (GIL3) but the same applications as you use today. GIL3 uses MS Vista as the operating system and MS Office 2007 which includes Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. so some knowledge of Vista and Office 2007 would be good. *Skills: Organizational Skills, Planning Skills, Verbal Communication Skills, Written Communication Skills, Microsoft Vista, MS Office.* *Responsibilities:* • Conduct User Assessment process to identify the number, location, and organizational data of users in a workgroup (e.g., by opco and sub-opco). • Conduct People Data Clean-up and Organization Data Clean-up process for accurate assessment and planning purposes. It is the responsibility of DCs to ensure the data of their users (facility, room, cube, phone, email, organizational levels, supervisors, IT approver, and IT charge codes) are correct and complete before deployments. • Conduct PC Hardware Assessment process to identify work group hardware requirements (i.e., retain or replace current hardware with either a notebook or a desktop workstation). • Conduct WAM Data Clean-up process to update hardware asset records in the Web-based Asset Management system (WAM) as appropriate. It is the responsibility of DCs to ensure the workstation asset data of their users (contact account, co-contact account, facility, room, cube, and billing contact) is correct and complete before deployment. • Work with local application coordinator to identify business-critical applications that still require migration, packaging, or upgrading for users in a workgroup. • Identify and facilitate any non-standard user requests for the work group (e.g., 64-bit machine, extra memory, flat panel monitors, etc.) • Work with site scheduler to develop and maintain hardware deployment schedule for users in work group. Work with users, site scheduler, and RIPM/SIPM for acceptance of that work group schedule. (Note: Site scheduler will develop parameters within which DCs can schedule deployments, e.g., to accommodate work patterns or shifts). • Communicate and confirm new deployment dates with users (e.g., GIL 2 PC pickup time, GIL 3 PC delivery and review time). • Communicate the work group deployment schedule to the site scheduler. Confirm that the team can complete the deployment on time. • Work with site scheduler to manage any reschedules of end-user's deployments. • Oversee deployment logistics for the work group (i.e., timing user training, timing of GIL 2 PC pickup and delivery of GIL 3 PC) • Gather feedback (via end user survey) from users to determine if deployments and training were conducted to their satisfaction. • Service deliverable knowledge and experience is a plus. • Previous working knowledge of GIL2 Hardware Software is a plus *Skills Required:* • People skills • MS Vista • Office 2007 • Organizational skills • Planning skills • Excellent customer facing skills including ability to manage onsite customer issues. • Ability to manage daily workflow (Time Management) • Communicate clearly to customer and other segments • Ability to prioritize customer escalations and issues NOTE: Additionally there will be approximately 2 to 3 weeks during the month of December where Client will not be requiring the service since most of the team will be out during Holidays.
