Oracle Certified Master (OCM) desirable *RESPONSIBILITIES:* The Sr. Oracle DBA will participate in solutions planning and roadmap planning as well as providing day-to-day technical expertise for projects. § Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system. § Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. § To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. § Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. § Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate. § Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. *REQUIREMENTS:* Ø Strong experience with Oracle 8i and hands-on experience with Oracle 9i. 10g, 11i. Oracle Certified Master (OCM) desirable but can be substituted with 5yrs hands-on Oracle DB experience. Ø Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Ø DB Tuning in Oracle Application environment experience required; Ø Disaster Recovery Planning in Oracle Application environment experience required; Ø Physical database design & development experience; Ø Support of an Oracle Application in a production environment, 7x24 support with emphasis on Incident resolution under pressure; Ø Sr. level technical troubleshooting skills including ability to work-to-resolution on difficult technical problems requiring vendor support; Ø UNIX experience Ø Strong scripting skills??: PERL, SHELL…??
