Description
Serve as a middleware engineer. Primary responsibilities include
installing, configuring, supporting, maintaining, administering, and
documenting the webMethods environments (development, test,
performance, QA, training, and production).
This challenging role will also be responsible for working with the
business and application development groups to insure the appropriate
processes and technical infrastructure are put in place that will meet
their business requirements. The role will also involve supporting
users of the environment, so good client interaction skills are
necessary.
Responsibilities:
- Administering and supporting multiple environments
- Troubleshooting problems and problem resolution
- Pager support on a rotational basis
- Interfacing with the Infrastructure and Operations groups
- Setup Optimize for Infrastructure monitors and alerts.
- Administer MyWebMethods Server.
- Supporting the development teams with
o Application integration connections and adapters
o General technical support
o Escalation of vendor issues
- Performing/coordinating
o Backup processes
o Restore processes
o DR Strategy and Testing
o Upgrades/patches bug fixes
o Monitoring tools and processes
o Code migrations
o Security and error handling processes
Required Skills:
Must have 4+ years of systems project experience with knowledge of
infrastructure and end-to-end development life cycle processes and
methodologies.
Requires a strong history of analytical problem solving. Ability to
multi-task, work in a team environment, understand and be responsive
to customer needs, work under tight deadlines, and work
independently. Must be flexible, a good listener, and have strong
oral and written communication skills.
The following Technical Skills are required: UNIX and webMethods 6.5
or greater. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with
very strong skills of the required set or additional skills in:
Solaris, AIX, UNIX scripting, webMethods IS Admin, MyWebMethodsServer,
Optimize For Infrastructure, Trading Networks, Broker, Modeler, IS
Adapters (JDBC, MQ), webMethods Developer, SQL and version control
tools
