Minimum 8-10 years experience in design, development, implementation and support of OLTP and datawarehouse systems (SQL Server environment) . Create, define and improve database architecture and design including logical and physical data modeling . Monitor and improve database performance including server level performance . Define policies for database schema. Manage Security and access policies . Perform basic DBA functions related to maintaining production and other databases . Minimum BS in Comp Science, Engineering. MS preferred . Must be a quick learner In this role you will be the sole person in data architect and it is a hands on position working under his direction . Database size is large (multi terabyte) is primary db and there are other databases. The business driver behind this position being created is that they need data architecture expertise since the current architects are playing other roles. There are 30 analysts and developers people are involved in the application part of the team. The DW is the Primary DB and is over 1 TB. Overspace is 10TB+ The data is mortgage data. They are on SQL Server 2005 and they are using SSRS, SSIS, etc. They are also using Analysis Services and Proclarity as reporting tools. They are using Erwin for Data Modeling, but they are not hung up on that. There are 8 primary servers. They have OLAP cubes that are sitting on top of 1 TB database.
