*DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: *
The client is undertaking the deployment of an Advanced Metering
Infrastructure (AMI) solution. The AMI project includes installation of new
solid-state electronic meters and a fixed two-way communications system that
allows for the automated collection of metering data and for sending signals
to the meter. The system is intended to reduce costs, improve service, and
provide a platform for additional products and services.
*REQUIRED SKILL SET INCLUDED: *
Data Architecture
Unix/Variety
Data Integration/ETL
In depth experience with both relational and dimensional data modeling
techniques
Working knowledge of Oracle Partitioning
Extensive experience in performance tuning very large data bases (VLDB)
In depth knowledge of PL/SQL
Experience in designing, building and maintaining data warehouses
Experience with design of ETL integrations for VLDB data warehouses
Knowledge of OLAP reporting tools and their application to business
analytics
Knowledge of processes for backing up and archiving data for VLDB
*PREFERRED: *
Infrastructure Architecture
Experience with design of event-based queue integrations
SAS experience
Utility experience
*DESIRED DELIVERABLES AND SCOPE OF WORK: *
Review of existing documentation including, but not limited to:
architectural, design, specifications and system & operational flows
Collaboration with Project Team on data architecture, data warehouse and
data mart designs
Participation in meetings
Provide written recommendations regarding architecture and database design**
