*GENERAL SUMMARY:* As the Software Engineer, you'll be working with
Oracle's database technology to design, build and maintain different
components / subsystems of the client's proprietary Order Management System.
The Software Engineer will serve as individual contributor on the business
requirements for this core system. He/She will participate in every stage of
the project lifecycle -- gather requirements, design, develop and test. A
wide degree of knowledge, creativity and efficiency is expected.
*Experience:*
- 8+ years in software engineering experience
- 5+ years in Oracle Database design and application development
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
*1. OMS software Design and Implementation*
Serve as a key contributor for implementation of initiatives
related to client's web based Order Management System.
Assess feasibility and ramifications of new business requirements.
Design appropriate solutions and recommend alternative approaches when
necessary.
Provide necessary support of the OMS data, respond quickly to
critical requests, participate in the OMS processes troubleshooting /
investigations.
*1) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:*
Functional Competencies:
Required:
Good object-oriented analysis and design skills
Technical mastery of a wide assortment of Oracle Database
technologies: XML, JDBC, SQL, PL/SQL, data replication, Oracle AQ and
Database modeling / design
Experience designing and building systems for high traffic and
transaction volumes
Experience implementing service-oriented architectures
Hands-on experience with above technologies
Preferred:
Experience with the Order Management, Fulfillment, Pricing, Tax,
Invoicing and Purchase Order modules of ERP systems like Oracle and SAP or
some proprietary systems
Experience with EDI and Distributed Order Fulfillment systems
Knowledge of queuing systems (JMS)
Ability to work with business users, product managers, QA, Release,
and UI and Platform Engineering teams to develop e-commerce applications
Excellent communications skills
Interpersonal Competencies:
Ability to communicate effectively to both technical and
non-technical audiences
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and planning skills
Ability to anticipate potential problems and offer solutions
Timely and proactive communication skills
