I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share some reflections on the future of Sugar and how we can continue to innovate in the field of education. Although I'm not a core developer of Sugar, I've always admired the work everyone has done to maintain and improve the platform. Recently, I came across an interesting article on OSNews about the need for collaboration between non-GNOME GTK desktop environments in the face of Libadwaita ( https://www.osnews.com/story/139512/linux-mint-non-gnome-gtk-desktop-environments-need-to-work-together-in-the-face-of-libadwaita/). This made me reflect on whether we should rethink our technological strategy, especially regarding GTK4. More than focusing on the technology itself, I think it's important to ask what Sugar represents today and how we can better manifest our constructionist ideas. Should we proceed with a migration to GTK4, or perhaps it's time to explore new ways to express our educational vision? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this. What do you think would be best for Sugar at this time? Are there aspects we could improve or alternative approaches we could consider? I hope we can have a productive discussion about this! Aunque no soy un desarrollador central de Sugar, siempre he admirado el trabajo que todos han hecho para mantener y mejorar la plataforma. Esto me hizo reflexionar sobre si deberíamos replantearnos nuestra estrategia tecnológica, especialmente en relación con GTK4.
