Do you mean you are still getting the freetype.la issue? When you get
one error just stop there... the subsequent modules and sugar will not
work anyway.
In our experience, we have been able to skip over some build errors and still get a fairly decent running version of sugar. Hence my perseverence in sitting through errors in sugar-jhbuild build.
Any event, no, the new error didn't appear to be a freetype.la issue, I was just reporting the slew of errors even with the -a flag.

Weird... that looks like a selinux related issue. I wonder if it might
be related to the fact that you are building as root... btw you don't
need to do that, the build should work just fine as user.
Okay, I logged in as a user (not root) and re-ran ./sugar-jhbuild build -a.
