I started to use MS Office in the mid '90s and only after the 2000 version
started to wonder, why the technicians became after each version more and more
senile. And why the Office package began to grow like a montgolfiere. Or like
La Fontaine's frog which wanted to look as big an ox was...
The prices doubled, tripled, quintupled by each version. Then came the
Open Office.
And changed everything. Actually in some of my translations I can't use but MS
Word - because my client does not have the Open Office package. But otherwise
for the last 2-3 years I am using only Open Office even though only the windows
version, but with time, i'll use more the Linux one.
Last but not least: Open Office has inbuilt dictionaries for any possible
language, while I am battling against a US English thinking MS Office 2007 when
writing some not-English texts, i.e. in Hungarian. This US version is
practically the only one version which one can find here in Serbia - and to me
as asssermented court interpreter makes a hell of my life.

Sincerely yours
Horváth-Militicsi Attila, prof. agrégé
