Actually it seems you are wrong


yum provides "perl >= 5.006001" gives me this:

perl.x86_64                              3:5.8.5-49.el4
base            
Matched from:
perl >= 5.006001


Also installing those modules went just fine for me. What exactly is the
problem you are having?
