Subject: Re: [sumo-user] Sigma: Driver imperfection

The behavior of sigma is carFollowModel dependent. In the default Krauss-model
it applies uniform randomDeceleration from [0, sigma * min(accel,
currentSpeed)] to the speed that would otherwise be chosen due to car-following
or junction-approach. Note, that there is a strong interaction with the
simulation step-length parameter.
We are actively working on alternative models for driver imperfection
(https://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Driver_State)

Jakob

Hi,

I am wonder if there is a more technical explanation of what the driver
parameters sigma (driver imperfection) does to the car-following model?

BR,
Fredrik
