I'd first try with some debug output for forward movement:

Then select the vehicle in sumo-gui and check the resulting console output
(send it to sumo-dev or attach it to a ticket if it's too obscure).
Note, that the release build on windows does not write to stdout so you
either have to do this on linux or use the debug build.

My guess is that the behavior somehow results from lane-changing so you may
want to switch on that output as well:
