The two-stage left turn is a policy specialized for scooters in Taiwan. In some multi-lane intersections, a scooter rider who conducts a left turn directly is prohibited. Instead, scooter riders would conduct a two-stage left turn. They would move their scooter to the right side while approaching the intersection to ride into the waiting box safely.
