TraCI commands generally take effect, regardless of lane change mode. The only thing that can prevent a TraCI request from being followed are the safety checks. If you want to disable automatic changing, you can use either 0, 256 or 512 (depending on the desired safety checks).
The default mode is suitable for all the lane changing functionality of the SL2015 lane change model (and overriding with TraCI works either way). Am Mo., 7.
