some of the named topics / systems are supported directly by SUMO and some
require some extra work e.g. to add the control logic.
Integrated
Variable Speed Limits
Signal System Timing
Feasible, but do not work "out of the box":
Coordinated Adaptive Ramp Meters
Queue Warning Systems
Hard Shoulder Running & Dynamic Lane Assignment (in terms which lanes can
be used by which vehicle)
I do not remember major publications featuring these topics but there are
probably some around.

I am exploring the capabilities of SUMO for a project on managed
freeway/motorway technologies. I am particularly interested in
understanding if SUMO supports the modeling of the following technologies
as together that are used in managed motorways:

Queue Warning Systems
Variable Speed Limits
Hard Shoulder Running
Signal System Timing
Could you please confirm whether these functionalities are supported by
SUMO? Additionally, if there are any use cases or studies where these
technologies have been implemented using SUMO, I would highly appreciate it
if you could share them with me.
