Hi All, I've got some flow data for the M25 in UK, which reports volume data measured 15 min interval flow data broken down into 4 different vehicle lengths.
I was looking at the howto http://sumo-sim.org/userdoc/Demand/Routes_from_Observation_Points.html to construct traffic data for SUMO based on this, as it looks like the best approach of all the options mentioned on the site. But, it looks like this expects a fully observable system? I'm not sure such a full data set is available, i.e. I have results for between different junctions on the motorway, and possibly some additional data which might indicate entry from junctions, but from what I've seen, I'm not sure it covers the entire traffic flow entering/exiting. What I'm wondering, is if there's an easier process to construct simple flow along this motorway section, without going as indepth as the howto guide? For example, we know that in that 15 minute sample, there were X of each category that passed through that point, it feels a little like something randomTrips could do? If I set up with the same route, I'd just need to get the intervals right to cover 15 mins and the observed volume? Ah, the other complication I have, is that the detector data, doesn't specify lane info (there are 4 lanes). And finally, probably worth adding that I'm only really looking at a 15 minute scenario runtime, so I could use a couple of the 15 min sample points, but probably end up interpolating. Just wondered if anyone hA tackled similar problem, I'm guessing that sort of data set must have been encountered before?
