Hi all,

I am using SUMO within the VSimRTI platform to simulate GLOSA (Green Light
Optimal Speed Advisory) application.
There are different approaches of how to calculate the advised speed and
similarly different commands that can used.

I was wondering how SlowDown command (TraCI 0x14) works. Assume you travel with
50km/h and you send a SlowDown to 30km/h for 10sec.
The change from 50 to 30 will happen abruptly in the next simulation time
(1sec) following the maximum deceleration available on the vehicle or with a
different approach?
The 10 seconds will count from the moment the 30km/h threshold is reached or
from the time the SlowDown command was issued?

If I want to have a smoother slow down, e.g. the transition from 50 to 30km/h
lasts 5sec (then continue with 30) an approach with consecutive speed set
(TraCI 0x40 -- SetMaximumSpeed in VSimRTI) in each simulation time (1sec) is
better than the SlowDown?

Regards,
Kostas
