Hi, if I remember correctly it is not a fixed distance in space but in time (so it depends on the speed, see the article on road intersection control here: http://sumo-sim.org/2013/SUMO2013_15-17May%202013_Berlin-Adlershof.pdf page 212) but you may override it using the traci speed mode command.
