Hello, the acceleration used by SUMO can be computed reliably from the other variables. However, it probably isn't what you would expected. If a vehicle at time 0 has position p0 and velocity v0 at during step 1 accelerates with a1 it will have the following values at the end of step 1: velocity v1 = v0 + a1 and position p1 = p0 + v1 (ignoring random decelerations for simplicity). Thus you can compute a1 = v1 - v0 as its acceleration in step 1. So looking at the change in speed it's ok but looking at the change in position it's a bit strange. (see also http://sumo-sim.org/trac.wsgi/ticket/860) Asking, what is the acceleration at the end of step 1 (rather than during step 1) might be outside the scope of the time discrete model. Maybe you could use the average of a1 and a2 (where a2 is acceleration during step2) regards, Jakob
