If you want your random vehicles to be distributed randomly on their
starting edges i suggest  you  add the following parameter to
randomTrips.py
 --trip-parameters='departLane="best" departSpeed="max" departPos="random"'
(vehicles then also start with high speed and on a reasonable lane)
