Hi all, I'm currently working on a project where I'm using VEINS (Omnet + Sumo) to simulate V2V intervention on freeways. I'm wondering if there is a way to get the gap with the preceding vehicle from SUMO, live during the simulation or, at least, the ID of that nearest preceding vehicle?
This value must exist somewhere in the car-following model, I assume. I'm already using TraCI to retrieve a number of different variables and it is working well, and having a quick access to the distance with the vehicle driving in front of any given vehicle would simplify my post-processing greatly. Thanks in advance for your help! Best regards, Sébastien.
