Hello, it very much depends on what you mean by "one of the next versions". It also depends on what simulation behavior you expect exactly. - There is the simTram project ( https://sites.google.com/site/simtramsimulator/) which extends sumo by cutting lanes into thin stripes and thus gives more control over lateral positions. - There is an option for making lane-changing continuous (--lanechange.duration) which interpolates positions between two lanes and lets a vehicle temporarily block 2 lanes.
Either of these features would be a good basis for lane-independent positioning via TraCI. However, since development is mostly driven by the project needs of the core development team at DLR it don't think it will happen in the next 12 Months. regards, Jakob 2014-05-22 15:10 GMT+02:00 Christoph Rist <[email protected]>: > Dear all, > my question is if one of the next versions of SUMO will feature > lane-independent vehicles?
