I’ve updated the SUMO port file for Macs to include many of the python and perl
scripts included in the source tree (this has been available for the last few
months for versions 0.21.0 and 0.22.0).

The major changes to python files for the packaging involve substituting
“import” and “from x import” lines so libraries are found where they have been
installed under the python site-packages/ tree. And since there are so many
utility scripts I’ve prepended “sumo-“ to the script name (and removed the .py)
to avoid swamping the program installation area (/opt/local/bin/ for MacPorts)
with SUMO-specific files with obscure names. So, for example, duaIterate.py
becomes /opt/local/bin/sumo-duaIterate, it is found without having to modify a
typical $PATH, and $SUMO_HOME is not required (for any of the programs).

Would there be interest in having more of SUMO available in /usr/bin/ etc from
an RPM installation?

If this might be accepted into the RPM spec files packaged with SUMO I’ll go
ahead and start work. Feedback appreciated. Thanks!
