Hello,
there is currently no simpler method for detecting small jams. You could
use subscriptions (sumo.dlr.de/wiki/TraCI/Object_Variable_Subscription) to
reduce the communication overhead. If you want to detect large jams
(vehicles get blocked for 300 seconds and start teleporting) you can use
traci.simulation.getStartingTeleportNumber()
