1. Are the commands below different, even though the time interval is 3
days? From the log file generated, I find these two commands have different
meaning, is it?

$ activitygen --duration-d 3 ...
$ activitygen -b 0 -e 259200 ...

-> yes. -e is the end time on the last day whereas daily patterns are
repeated based on the --duration-d option

2. What is the difference between vehicle id="carIn268:1" and
id="carIn268:12"?

Are they from the same vehicle carIn268 but have different trips? Or they
are from the same neighborhood carIn268 but the driver is from different
user?

-> From a cursory look at the code I think it's repeated trips by the same
driver.

3. Assume I am using activitygen --duration-d 3 to generate 3 days traffic,
does the result include the following case? If there is a person driving
back and forth between his home and office every day, could I get his
routing information? Assume he has two trips within a day(home<->office),
does the log record his routing information?

-> I think a new <vehicle> definition is generated for each of these trips
with the same id suffix (part before the ':')
