I recommend to use at least version 0.24.0. For editing networks the latest
development version is even better since it already includes the graphical
network editor NETEDIT.
To make installation easier, first install the sumo version included in
your distribution (for pulling the necessary libraries) and then build the
latest release / dev-version from source.
