a) yes. Either via TraCI (http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/TraCI) or automatically
via http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Demand/Automatic_Routing

b) yes, but only via TraCI (the communication / cooperation logic is
implemented in an external script)

Hi,

I have 2 scenarios here that I would like to confirm whether SUMO is able
to perform this kind of simulation or not.

a. In the case that a vehicle is stuck in a traffic jam, can it be reroute
itself from the predefined routes that we have made it in the rou.xml
files? If yes, can the vehicle determine whether the reroute will shorten
more time than staying at original route then only it proceed to reroute?

b. There are 2 trucks A and B each carrying a number of containers to
distribute to the destined shops. If let's say truck A stuck in jam and
will be late to deliver the container, can truck A communicates truck B to
help truck A to deliver the containers instead? Just wondering is this
scenario possible in SUMO where both vehicles can communicate and update
with each other.

I would appreciate if you can confirm with me that the above scenarios can
be done regarding the scenarios mentioned. Thank you very much!

Regards,
TH
