Hello,

I would like to simulate thousands of vehicle in a short time.
In order to create as many nodes as I need using randomTrips I need to
set a simulation time much longer than my actual simulation is going to
last. As a result, my sumo simulation and later network simulation
became much longer while many of the nodes would actually behave as if
they were static during the actual simulation time I will consider.
I would like all of them to move if possible but if not, it is ok that
half of them are static.
I could add later those static nodes by using the network simulator but,
if they are given random positions, they may not be consistent with
valid vehicle paths. Manual positioning would be a laborious task.
I am considering manually modifying the trace file to change start time
for those nodes that are in practice static. I would change their start
times to lower ones so I can ensure not having longer simulations times
while nodes' positions are coherent with the map as they have been
assigned by randomTrips.

Is there any other solution?
Is there a way to create a higher vehicle rate than using randomTrips?
Or a way to add static nodes to a given simulation, coherent with valid
positions in the map?

Best regards,
Fátima
