Dependent on your application, a solution could be to check the feasibility (edge by edge, as Jakob explained) of the entire route a priori (or before you pass it to Traci), in order to make sure all current vehicles actually reach their destination edge/lane.
By the way, I had problems with duarouter in the past, giving me infeasible solution, so I use an external router that gives me only feasible routes.
