Hello,
In order to simulate an accident, I did as it is suggested to stop one
vehicle on a lane. I tried both IDM and Krauss car following model and
noticed the following results.
For IDM car following model, when an accident occurred, 3 vehicles stopped
on 3 separate lanes and the other vehicles stopped right after them.
Therefore, although I expected to have one lane blockage, three out of five
lanes got blocked.
For the default car following model, Krauss model, the vehicles stopped
after the stopped vehicles, make a long queue and do not change their lanes
until there is not any vehicles on the other lanes.
Could you please help me to figure out the problem?
Moreover, I want to adjust the lane changing model to somehow force the
vehicles to change their lanes when they are decelerating in which the
difference in speeds of vehicles in the blocked lane and other lanes are
not too much which makes it easier to find a successful gap. Do you have
any suggestion for me?
Please find attached the screen shots of the model based on two car
following models.
By the way, I am using the newest version of sumo, sumo-0.30.0.
Thanks,
Arezoo
