Hello, sumo may be built with or without support for embedded python (running traci python scripts without an external python interpreter http://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/TraCI/Interfacing_TraCI_from_Python#Embedded_Python ). I suspect that your development version is built with embedded python support (the release version is not). regards, Jakob
