Hello,
this issue is fixed in development version 25003 (netedit was improperly
discarding part of the edge geometry).
There is still a difference between 0.29.0 and this latest version:
- in 0.29.0 the edge shape is controlled by the junction shape (edges that
would end before the junction are lengthened to meet the junction shape)
- in 0.30.0 the junction shape is controlled by the edge shape (if the edge
ends earlier, the junction shape is enlarged automatically). Only there was
a bug in netedit (joining via netconvert works in 0.30.0)

The current behavior allows you to define the edge shape any way you like
and the stop line will be built at the exact end of the edge. If you need
more control you can set the end point coordinate numerically in inspect
mode (attributes shapeStart and shapeEnd).
Note, that with the 'set geometry endpoint here' method, you must click
within the edge shape in order to get the correct result.
