Thank you for your answer. I will have a look at the example. 

Sorry that I might not be clear in the first e-mail. What I meant by “force 
it”, is I am looking for a way to force this lane change by controlling a 
vehicle as if we could drive it, i.e. to change the lane to the opposite 
direction (and back) freely by sending TraCI commands without any 
pre-condition. My idea is to have someone driving one of the vehicles in SUMO 
and do this kind of manoeuvre.
