I recently completed the restoration and re-installation of a nice horizontal sundial in a local college arboretum. My one remaining task is to prepare the artwork and text for a plaque explaining how to read the dial.

I would like to receive from list members examples of the most-succinct, most-understandable text for this purpose. Practicality limits the plaque size to about 8.5x11 inches so there is limited space for text above a table of correction values for EOT and longitude.

Please note that arboretum visitors are more likely to be gardeners than engineers. Thus, I believe a table of correction values is more appropriate than an analemma graphic. But, I would still like to explain the several factors in a non-intimidating way.

Please consider plaques you have seen or prepared yourselves. I welcome your suggestions.
