Now I'm a believing Christian, but this is unfortunately -- as written --
the utterest nonsense.  A day, in ancient times certainly, meant one thing
only: the space of time during which the sun did something (usually was
visible, "daytime"; sometimes, the day+night cycle).

Now if the sun stood still, how could that have been for a whole "day"?
Unless it suddenly appeared overhead in the middle of the night, then after
a while, popped out of the sky with equal suddenness.

I'm glad I don't have to design a sundial for that...
