Dear Sundial List,

In my last Email - I suggested that the internal involute gear could be
generated by a rack shaped cutter - this fails due to interference.  I
knew this! Sorry.   You could just use a hand ground tooth shaped
cutter, and still use the mill as a shaper to make this part.  Or make
the corresponding negative using a rack shaped cutter, and mold the
positive from it.
