 Fellow Shadow Watchers,
A local development in North Tyneside is to include a large sundial
and
they have asked me to advise. My opening comment was a quote from
"What's
the use of Big Sundials?" - but they want one so the project is going
ahead.
The landscape architect has asked for any available information on other
large public dials in the UK between in the region of 5/6 meters high
or over?

If anyone knows of examples erected in recent years I would be very
pleased to receive a brief statement of location and some descriptive
details to add to the list.

 Many thanks in anticipation,

 Tony,
There is a large public horizontal dial by the Tower of London.
The gnomon is about 8 foot tall. I can forward a photo of it it you
want. It is near the Tube station and the McDonalds on Tower Hill.
There
are also 4 sundials on the church tower next to Westminister Abby. I
forget the name of that smaller church looking structure.
