Hi everyone, I use a wood product for my vertical declining dial called MEDEX board which is used by sign makers. It is an engineered wood panel made from a blend of wood fibers. It can be carved, sandblasted or painted. It must be protected with some type of coating or paint to hold up in the weather. I have some painted dials more than five years outside, and are still very sound so far. There are other companies that make this type of product.
May I suggest (www.signcraft.com) who publish a magazine for the sign making industry. There are a lot of new products and materials that will hold up to the weather. Ken Clark
